Ryder Ltd (Sites throughout the UK)
Groundlink carried out a rolling improvement programme across Ryder's UK truck rental sites. Ryder is a leading transportation solutions company focusing on commercial vehicle rental, contract hire, maintenance and contract drivers.Ryder operate from 23 locations across the UK.
The aim was to ensure compliance with current EA Pollution Prevention Guidelines (PPGs) and Health & Safety Standards with regard to site drainage systems and Ryder service yards.
Initially, CCTV drainage surveys were undertaken and the results analysed. Drainage improvements were recommended with particular regard to oil & diesel dispensed on the sites.
Appropriate protection systems were installed including new alarmed oil & wash-down separators.
Large scale improvements were carried out on the service yards including:
- New concrete slab construction
- Surfacing repair & replacement
- Car park construction
- Bunded & retaining walls
- Fencing & lighting installation
- Site reprofiling
All the activities were carried out on live sites with a minimum of disruption to Ryderps activities. Ryder's approach to Health, Safety & Environmental Management sets a standard for the industry.
